We are hiring Owner Operators in the Norfolk VA area for Independent Contractors. Home Time: Mixture of local and regional runs. Regional runs only have one overnight run a week.
This job comes with a $1000 sign on bonus.
Home most nights an overnight may be required depending on the route. (normally no more then one night a week)
All Drivers will be required to be set up to Pro-Pass and be willing to enter the port.
Owner Operators must be willing to do both local and home daily regional runs.
We have tons of freight in container drayage industry, transloading, and domestic transportation industries
We can take Day Cabs for this job but see the weight requirements below.
We cover tolls (EZpass) and permits, Hazmat extra $100 a load, fuel discounts up to .30 CPM, pay for clean inspections.

- Any year of truck as long as it passes inspection. We take both sleepers and double axle daycabs. (*Port has limit on trucks, must be 1994 or newer to enter*)
Owner Operator freight is a mix of freight some local with a mostly regional. 60-65% is overweight which is over 45,000 lbs. From time to time we have a 30 mile run that is 60,000 lbs.
Some loads are 58k lbs; anyone coming on with a day cab needs to know some loads can weigh that much.
Most Frequent runs (Both Local and regional runs)
Greater Norfolk Area, Winchester VA, Drop and Pick/24 hour facility no delivery appointments needed, Lynchburg VA, Narrows, VA /24 hour facility no delivery appointments needed, Greenville NC.
Sanford NC, (requires Hazmat, Narrows, VA is a 2 day Overweight run, (Optional) (Based on70/30 Split)
Additional Driver Pay Items
a. Chassis split – N/A

b. Waiting time after 2 hours = $70/hour
c. Haz mat = $100

e. OVERWEIGHTS – $25 and an additional $25 for every state they go through
Expected Standard Deductions
1. Approximately $200/week
i. Liability Insurance (Cargo) = $94 – required
ii. Occupational = $48 – required
iii. Bobtail = $10
iv. Physical Damage = (Total amount) X 6% = ________ / 52 Weeks = _________(example coverage: $20K = 20K*6= $1200/52 weeks= $23.08 a week)
2. Security Deposit (refundable 45 days after contract cancellation)
i. No fuel card – $50/ week until balance is $1500
ii. OTR – $50/week until balance is $1900, then $25 until balance is $3500
iii. Local – $50/week until balance is $1500, then $25 until balance is $2000
iv. Lease Purchase (LP) – $50/week until balance is $3000, then $25 until balance is $4000

i. $2.31/week

i. $40/week

• Love: $0.30 discount

REQUIREMENTS: Class A License with at least 12 months of Class A tractor trailer experience in the last 10 years.
